Story behind these photos – 167 – Gems from Bharathi Nagar, Chennai: Bhagavan Baba’s 60th Birthday was a great event. The Birthday Gift to Bhagavan from devotees of T’Nagar (Chennai) Samithi was unique. A local slum area (Bharathi Nagar) was adopted, and the services offered there, was the Birthday Gift to Bhagavan. And, Swami personally visited this slum area as if accepting this humble Gift. Yes, Bhagavan walked in the lanes of this slum, and distributed sarees and Dhothis to the inhabitants. The T’Nagar Samithi members concentrated in providing, health, hygiene and other basis facilities. But the major achievement, was pushing the girls and boys of the area into higher educational achievements. In this photo we find the boys who were benefitted by efforts of active workers of the Samithi, by giving them free coaching and motivating them into great enthusiasm. All these boys had completed graduation and few of them even post graduation courses. And all are holding nice position and had improved their life style. One of the sevadals, Sri.
