Story of my 1969 Camaro: On my 13th birthday my parents departed my party leaving my brothers in charge of dealing with me and 4-5 of my friends. What I didnt know is that they left to see a car that had just been advertised in the Thrifty Nickel that day. After they returned, the party resumed and I discovered what they had done. I opened a small box that had the clipping from the paper and a note saying We are going to pick this car up tomorrow pending your approval. We went the next day about 20 miles from my house to see the car. It was primer gray w/ new black interior. It was a 307 3spd manual car with matching number engine/transmission. Car had been parked since the 80s (this was 1997). I happily agreed to the car and it was loaded up on the trailer (drove it on). Car was driven some as I was learning to drive and plans were constantly worked on. I wanted it to be yellow w/ black stripes so it was sent to MAACO for a paint job. We had issues with the transmission so a ST-10 4spd was purchased. Later a 355 would replace the 307. The car has come a long way and been through a few different iterations but is finally on its way to being built correctly and exactly as I want it to be.
