Story time! On Saturday, at approximately 7:45 pm, while at the river, I sustained severe damaged to my right hand and had to be rushed to a hospital in Nevada. The worst of the damage is a partially amputated right index finger at the tip with an accompanying fracture near the first joint. Good news: I missed the joint and so will retain motor function on the entire finger. Bad news: I may not regain feeling in the majority of the tip of the finger and will most likely lose the nail on that finger for good. Amanda and I see a hand surgeon at UCLA tomorrow to assess whether additional surgery is required, including a skin graft at the finger. A humble prayer request of my friends and family for hope and strength this week. Details (and pics!) to follow
