Strange I came across the picture below today. This is what I wrote last night in Miami while pondering about my last couple of weeks while in Haiti. I LOVE YOU is one thing that is not said often enough...I end most telephone conversations with these words with family and friends...my older brother and I had ended our conversation one morning around 5:45AM and the last words I said to him were I LOVE YOU...he was dead less than six hours later... I Love You were the last words I said to a friend who was killed a few days later in a robbery. The words slipped out naturally with a new friend a few days ago as we ended a good phone conversation and I could immediately feel the stiltness as it was recieved on the other end! Would I want to take it back?? At first as I could feel the stilness response from the reciever, I wish that I had not let it slip out...but then I realized that ending a conversation on the phone saying I Love You is a natural part of me, saying you matter to me! A new friend several years ago that I started working with in Haiti had me on speaker phone as he was talking to me and as the conversation came to an end I said I love you and hung up. His wife wanted to know who this woman was who had just ended her conversation with him with those words I Love You. Donald tried explaining that I always did that and I must just love everyone...
