Strange encounter on the way to work this am. At 2am I was pulling up to work, I pulled up on the left side of another car. Then realized I needed to make a right. I waited for the car to proceed through the stop sign so I could make a right. This is what happened. Dude in car leans back so I cant see him and holds up his iphone 6s showing me the screen. I think to myself oh, is this some new cool thing? how old am I that i have no idea what holding up your phone means?! I wave at him gesturing with my hands to go ahead, I need to make a right Dude rolls down window. I roll down window. me: Im sorry- I got in the wrong lane, go ahead. I just need to make a right Dude: I wanted to see if I could get your number me: Oh...no... Im married Dude: Im married too. me: Oh.. um no. I.. I just want to make a right turn. Dude: (hesitantly) Okay... if you say so *smiles and drives off. Is this a thing?! Is holding up your phone now the universal sign for Can I get your number? And married men should NOT ASK FOR ANOTHER WOMANS number! So weird!
