Strange evidence to prove Prophet peace be upon him Nur um min nur Illah a website stated : The Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaah believe that it is indeed permissible to call the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) as Nur of Allah. The Quran has itself applied this description to the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) at many places and so have overwhelming ahadith. and then quoted the evidences one of that is the prayer of Prophet peace be upon him which stated O Allah! place light in my heart, light in my hearing, light in my sight, light on my right, light on my left, light in front of me, light behind me, light above me, light below me, make light for me, or he said:Make me light. [Sahih Muslim, Book 004, Hadith #1677] This is really strange to see how they interpret ahadith in their own way a) Imam Nawawi Commented under this hadith قال العلماء : سأل النور في أعضائه وجهاته ، والمراد به بيان الحق وضياؤه والهداية إليه Scholars said He (peace be upon him) asked Noor for his parts of Body and Jahaatah, It means conveying the truth, its Light and its guidance. [Sharah Sahih Muslim Vol 1 Page 260] b) al-Haafiz Ibn Hajar Asqalani commented وكل هذه الأمور راجعة إلى الهداية والبيان وضياء الحق وإلى ذلك All of these things goes to guidance and conveying light of truth and so on.[Fath ul Bari vol 2 Page 430] -Brother Asim Ul Haq
