Strange fact of the day: In a 2007 study published by Psychology Today, researchers commissioned a group of Buddhist monks and a Mongolian shaman to meditate on a few bars of chocolate, and ‘imprint’ them with positive intentions. The researchers then gave this special chocolate to a group of (lucky!) test subjects, and compared the effects of eating it to another placebo group given normal chocolate. The result: in a subsequent mood assessment test, the ‘imprinted’ chocolate increased overall wellbeing, vigor and energy by an average of 67%, and up to 1,000% in some subjects, compared to the normal chocolate.
