Strange night! It started with my recital in Johannesburg. I played what I felt was a very good recital, one of my best recitals, in fact, and on a very difficult piano. The audience response was fabulous. Then, my manager and his assistant were driving me back to Pretoria, we were waiting at a traffic light, and I witnessed a smash and grab to the car in the next lane. The poor girls screams could be heard for miles through the completely smashed window... Then we drove through at McDonald because I was starving and restaurants were already closed, so I ended up eating a Big Mac in my room. Strange night, indeed!
