Strangely enough I was discussing this with a friend this morning. When I had Jessica we left the placeta attached for over an hour to get the fulll benefit of the cord blood. This was roughly 3 1/2 years ago and all the midwives were fantastic with it. I even got asked if I would leave the placenta attached for a week, wrap it in herbs and take part in a tv show - but that was too far for me. But I would like to do it again if I got a supporting midwife / hospital!! Sadly I cant go back to the same hospital as it will no longer be open by the time we have no 4.
