Strangest email in a while, which I must submit to the hive mind. Any ideas? Dear Sandor Katz, as a great fan of your works, we are turning to you with a question: This May, in context of the Festive Book Week in Budapest, we would like to make a project that interconnects literature and food-art. There is famous hungarian sürrealist poet Ferenc Juhász (a great friend of the famous french painter Simon Hantai) who has written a large epic poem: The dead blackbird. Our project would be a fermentation performance as an allegory of reading and forgetting, and we would like to ferment and bury Juhászs book in a plastic bag. After the fermentation process, we would like to prepare the book to use as an ingredient for a meal, and then eat it. Our question would be a very technical one. Do you maybe have any idea or advise, how could we elaborate the fermentation process technically? What kind of chemical ingredient could we use? How long does the fermentation process could take? What kind of meal could be made (maybe with flesh of a blackbird)? We would like to make this project in cooperation with a research based food-art group (Libatop Visionary Cuisine) and contemporary hungarian poets. Thank you very much for your answers and helps! Kindest regards, Zsolt Miklosvolgyi
