Supports the G-34 Protection Division: Provides Strategy Plans and Policy (SPP) support to Headquarters Department of the Army (HQDA) G-3/5/7, G-34, Army Protection Program (APP) Branch Chief in developing, preparing and implementing program policies, plans and procedures. Develops, promulgates and interprets Army Protection Program (APP) components, policy and guidance. Coordinates the meetings of HQDA APP forums’ meetings of the Board of Directors (quarterly), General Officers’ Steering Committee (bi-quarterly) and Counsel of Colonels (1-2 per month), tracking senior attendee’s availability, conference rooms, attendee distribution email lists, VTC addresses, and prepares meeting minutes and executive summaries. Tracks the implementation of the recommendations from the 2009 Fort Hood Shooting Army Internal Review Team (AIRT) findings and other APP actions across the Army. Tracks emerging protection challenges for the Army and develops courses of action and briefings for decision by the HQDA APP forums. Responsible for developing and staffing APP Execution Orders (EXORD) and All Army Activities (ALARACT) messages via the Automated Message Handling System (AMHS). Able to research, review, edit, and publish Army regulations, publications, doctrine, and multiple other memorandums and correspondence Apply integration, communication, coordination, organizational and planning expertise to technical and operational efforts across a broad spectrum of Army strategic plans and policies Ability to coordinate and mitigate General Officer/senior leadership schedules and agenda items for VTCs and meeting discussions Self-starter, able to work autonomously on multiple tasks and manage suspense dates Must be able to work both in a group setting and individually. This position will be located in government space in the Pentagon. This is an active contract and the position can start immediately Physical Requirements Include: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Experience and Skills: Required Experience: Candidates must meet the following requirements in order to be considered for this position; Bachelor’s Degree and ten (10) years of military experience Experience working in HQ Department of the Army, Staff, and/or Combatant Command highly desired. Working knowledge of Army Protection Program and Force Protection. Posses a Secret clearance, with the ability to obtain a Top Secret Clearance. This is a Pentagon staff officer augmentation task: experience with Microsoft Outlook, Sharepoint, Word, Powerpoint, Excel and other automated systems is required. Individual must be a self-starter with the ability to function autonomously, with little or no direct supervision.
