On Thursday, 11 December Irving will participate in panel with other international healthcare experts reviewing the 5 components of a strategic medical travel marketing plan. Many hospitals and clinics have been developed based on the empty promises and false hopes promulgated by consultants and associations only interested in catching the current trend or riding the wave of this popular idea. Too many of the “medical tourism” hospitals are struggling with empty beds, poor utilization and staggering debt. It is very unpopular to talk about hospitals struggling to survive, and even closing but more realistic and sober appraisals can be important for others who can avoid these “errors of enthusiasm” through careful strategic planning.
