Streamers, From John Buchanan (Dec 15th) Furry creek - no spawners , and looks like a no show for Coho there this year. Pinks and Chinook did make an appearance a few months earlier though. Middle creek- no spawners see any time of this year. Also supplemental water was forgotten for much of the season. Something more dependable needs to be installed. also with Middle creek the riparian vegetation has been completely removed under the bridge, and the old silt screening still not removed. (photo attached) Britannia creek - no Spawners any time this year, and looks like a good bit of the rock stack on the south east side near the bridge fell into the creek. From me (Dec 15th) -56 Coho counted with more coming, in Thunderbird creek and 2 half devoured Coho in No-Name creek. Jonn, Scott, Doug Swanston, and I ventured into the upper Squamish Valley yesterday and found: - DFO have replaced the plugged #4 Wapiti culvert (see picture below) and removed a large log obstruction in the Wapiti entrance channel. - Water from Ditch creek is still flowing over the road into High Falls creek due to a plugged culvert This time beavers are not to blame. I think High water flow has moved Ditch creek’s gravel into the culvert. Also, water from High Falls groundwater channel is partly flowing down the road rather than using its usual route to High Falls creek. - Branch 100’s pond has been lowered by about two feet due to a washout near its exit culvert. - We counted: 36 new Coho in Wapiti entrance channel above the stump pond; 12 Coho in Ashlu entrance channel down to first pedestrian bridge over South channel; 61 Coho, with 6 fresh in Branch 100; 16 new Coho in 22 Mile creek; 13 dead Coho and 13 live female Coho guarding their Redds in Ernestos creek, a tributary of Cloudburst creek. So this year has been satisfactory for Coho but unsatisfactory for Chum Jack
