Street Art, Wall Murals & Wallpapers Have you noticed how popular street art has become of late? Several streets & lanes in Melbourne have been given over to this art form & it’s well worth a wander through these areas to check out some amazing works. This form of art is also becoming very popular in interiors too, a great example is the Facebook office in Sydney which boasts some fine examples. The ever increasing popularity of street art seems to have sparked a deluge of interior wall murals & wallpapers that replicate this urban look. Pickawall, Rebelwalls, Pure interiors & Emily Ziz to name a few, have some great options. So now it’s really easy to have some street art in your home! There are wallpapers that replicate concrete, bricks, metals, slats of timber, peeling paint, in fact pretty much any surface you can think of! There are landscapes, seascapes, forests, city skylines & a whole plethora of other scenes as well. Many of the murals have a three dimensional appearance which can allow a room to look larger than it is in reality. From elegant & downright pretty through to pared back & rustic, you name it – it’s all there. Pickawall have some great options with their standard range of wall murals or you can upload an image you love & it can be custom sized to a particular wall. In fact, most wallpapers/murals can be custom sized these days. Check out the photos; the first image is Shepard Fairey street art in Hosier Street, Melbourne, the next image is a wallpaper from Emily Ziz - Jozi Streets, Girl. The third image is from Rebel Walls which features a large than life clock (a personal favourite of mine) & the last image is from Pure Interiors, called Macrame Out! So there you have it. There are so many options available in wallpapers or wall murals. There’s simply no excuse these days to put up with a bare wall! Lurleen Kirkwood
