Street Sense is a small newspaper published and sold by homeless - TopicsExpress

Street Sense is a small newspaper published and sold by homeless people in Washington, DC, as a way for them to earn money - every article inside is written by someone homeless and every paper is sold by them on street corners. In a recent issue, an author discusses his determination not to accept handouts and accuses the Democratic Party of saying one thing, and doing another. I no longer hide the fact that Iā€™m a black Republican, he says, The only thing I can do is continue the proud tradition of self-help preached by Frederick Douglass, Booker T. Washington, Marcus Garvey and Malcolm X before we sold our morals and principles to the Democratic Party.
