Street Teens has a part-time position open. We are open seven nights a week from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. The number and days of shifts will vary from week to week. Job Description – Street Teens Detailed Work Activities: • perform new client intake procedures/complete necessary intake paperwork obtaining necessary information from clients during initial intake process • determine program eligibility of new, incoming clients • explain rules, policies and procedures • motivate clients with positive attitude • must be organized and able to communicate effectively with program volunteers • attend meetings • network in the community building collaborative relationships Tasks include: Advise clients regarding food vouchers, program policies pertaining to bus passes, bus tokens, health cards, phone cards, DMV vouchers, sleeping bags, tents, backpacks, blankets, etc. Familiarize new clients with program facility services and hours of operation. Interview new clients during intake process to compile information on immediate and long-term needs. Explain rules and consequences established by program management for destruction of drop-in center equipment or property and for violent behavior toward fellow clients and/or volunteers. Provide information on and refer clients to public or private agencies and community services for additional assistance.
