Stress - the IBS Trigger If you suspect that you may be having problems with irritable bowel syndrome, you might be interested in knowing that there is no actual way for you to understand exactly why youre having a problem, at least from a medical standpoint. The fact of the matter is, there are so many different issues that seem to be lumped together within the same problem of IBS that they cannot all be caused from the same source. There are also many times whenever you may be having symptoms of IBS when in reality, these symptoms are only caused because a trigger has been initiated which brought them to the front. Many of us that have these difficulties may have them chronically and if that is the case, it will not take us very long to recognize some of the main triggers that might be causing them. One of these difficulties is stress, and that this can be an extremely difficult thing for us to handle because it is almost impossible for us to completely remove stress from our lives. We all tend to lead busy lives and we live in a world that certainly does not lend itself to feeling calm. Even so, if we are not able to get a handle on this problem with stress, we are never going to be able to overcome the symptoms that we are experiencing as a result of it. One of the main ways that you can overcome stress or at least be able to handle it to the extent where you will not experience some of the difficulties with IBS is through coping mechanisms. Meditation, self hypnosis and different forms of exercise, such as yoga can all help us to reach different stages of relaxation that effectively deal with the stress that we have in our lives. By keeping the stress under control, we keep many of the symptoms that we experience from IBS under control as well. Another way to overcome stress in many instances is to exercise regularly. This is not only good as far as stress is concerned, it is excellent for a digestive health and for our health in general. The good thing is, it does not take hours of exercise in the gym in order to achieve these results. Typically, walking for a total of 30 minutes every day is all that is necessary to see positive results as far as our digestive health and stress levels are concerned.
