Stretching tight muscles works. Foam rolling them also helps. Heres why: Stretching for 2+minutes will effect muscle length, any less is maintenance. Developing length in tight tissue improves range of movement in joints where the muscles attach. Where do rollers come in? If youve got knotts in the muscle fibres or the tight area is tacked down to the shin for example then stretching will just tighten the knott or aggrevate the sticky area. Foam rolling works to break the knotts down and untack the sticky area. Do 2minutes on the problem area. If its uncomfortable to roll or apply pressure with your hand its a problem. 2minutes on the problem area a day is proven to be effective. Stretch it 2mins. Roll it 2mins. Rollers are cheap on line. Well worth it. If your investing effort in training you should be investing in your recovery. If only you knew how good your body was designed to feel. Expect greatness. Impact
