Stubby is one of the best dogs ever! He stays true to his breed when it comes to intelligence and drive. Stubby is a ~2 year, 45 pound, old Border Collie mix. He gets his name from his stubbed tail :) Stubby is incredibly ambitious and loves meeting goals. He is very smart, trainable, and obedient. Stubby knows many commands and enjoys earning his rewards. He can fetch, walks wonderfully on a leash, and enjoys the water. Stubby is very loyal and very sweet. He is an affectionate dog with a heart of gold. Stubby loves people, especially his people. He will follow you to the ends of earth. He never ventures too far from you, and always checks back, even in the midst of an important job. Because of his devotion and sensitivity, Stubby can be clingy. Stubby is outgoing, playful, and energetic. He has some natural, instinctual tendencies related to his breed. His attention can be easily redirected; he does not have any obsessions or inappropriate behaviors. However, he does have a strong desire to be a traffic controller (like many Border Collies), and for now, should be supervised around moving vehicles. Allowing him to embrace his skills in a positive way would be wonderful. Although already a fantastic dog, Stubby would truly flourish with regular mental and physical exercise and stimulation. Stubby gets along well with other dogs (proper introductions always recommended), but wouldn’t be a great fit for a kitty cat home. Stubby is generally an easy dog, but would thrive with a dog experienced owner. He would also do best with someone who has the time to devote to him. He is ready to be your family dog / sidekick / best friend!
