Stuck for gift ideas for your kids/ loved ones this Christmas? (dont worry admin, Im not selling anything) Please, please, please buy them some cycle lights. Already got some? get some more- nobody ever said that bike has too many lights on it. This is by no means intended to be a dig at cyclists, Im a keen cyclist myself. Far, far to many ride at dusk to dark with no lights or lights with very poor effect- this isnt limited to children either. Unfortunately, my car was involved in an altercation with two children on a single bicycle last night- luckily it was at 5mph so limited harm (a few bruises and shock) but still a haunting experience for all involved. The cause= a bicycle with no lights, cars parked close to a T-Junction and lack of awareness of the surroundings by the children. I am, by no means having a go at the children- Kids will be kids but it causes great distress for parents and everyone involved. To level the playing field- Driving a car?.... turn your lights on! within ten minutes of my incident I saw a black Seat driving down Westminster road at 6.30pm with no lights on!
