Student engagement and partnership matter because they are about finding a coherent and reciprocal understanding between educators and students on the purpose of higher education…Simply publishing more and more detailed learning outcomes and assessment criteria does little to develop this understanding. Instead it is developed through the building of trust between educator and educated, allowing for constructive conversation and dissent, but there is always space for conversation.
