Students Should Think out of the Box – Bishop Wale Oke Loyalty to God and leaders has been described as ingredients of success. Bishop Wale Oke of the Christ Life Church stated this at a covenant service held at the Federal University of Technology, Akure. Bishop Wale Oke who is the President of the Sword of the Spirit Ministries International, Ibadan said that he is particularly delighted about the great idea of covenanting with God. The Clergy man added that “it is a blessed idea, because covenant people don’t die before their time, they don’t lack good things because they are like tree planted by rivers of water which bringeth forth its leaves in the season and they never dry”. Speaking further, he said covenant people are irrevocably and irreversibly blessed, they are significant. Bishop Wale admonished students of FUTA to think out of the box and contribute their quota to the growth and development of the Institution and the society by avoiding the social vices associated with their age. He particularly warned them against cultism and cult related activities. He urged them to strive for the best by making adequate research in order to stand out and be reckoned with by their immediate society and generations to come. The Bishop also declared that according to the promise of God, FUTA will experience unmerited favour adding that anything is possible on the platform of favour. “The favour will cause the Institution to win global and international awards and recognition and cause heaven to open with breakthrough’ the Bishop declared. Bishop Wale Oke who dated his relationship with FUTA to the 80s said since then he knew FUTA will be great. He said FUTA is one Institution he will always recommend to anyone in the country and beyond because of the modest achievement the University has made over the years. Responding, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adebiyi Daramola expressed gratitude to Bishop Francis Wale Oke for honoring the University’s invitation and for the message delivered” Daramola said “What Bishop Oke said is a true reflection of what FUTA believe. We have always received God’s mercy because He has favoured us. Most of the positive things happening to us are divine. Our staff and students keep winning awards, grants, trophies in different competitions and research output they embark on. It is really amazing. All these are possible because this University is covenanted to God. Truly it is not of him that willeth or runneth, but it is because God showeth mercy”. Daramola also called on FUTA staff to always treat students like their biological children and with love. “Let all of us be apostles of love. Let us treat our students like our biological children so that they can see us in the future and relate well with us.” Daramola concluded.
