Students and Alumni: In addition to training clients, I am also - TopicsExpress

Students and Alumni: In addition to training clients, I am also working part-time doing social media and marketing for an exciting new group of psychotherapists. The brilliant woman who started the practice is a behavioral therapist, meaning that she teaches her clients how to ACT differently in order to get different results. (Bloody simple in theory, amazingly effective in practice, efficient to teach -- way more so than exploring your life history for a million hours -- but often hard to do.) As trainers and coaches, it has long been my opinion that dealing with a clients feelings and interpersonal conflicts is not properly within our professional domain. (Any of you who have sat through my classes has heard me say, There is no crying in baseball. Moving on now, moving on.) While this may be factually true (as this is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay outside of our scope of practice), the fact remains that teaching clients to be secure in themselves and not get caught up in the toxic bullshit that often has them running for comfort food is a frequent theme for many trainers. My questions to you are this: 1). If the doctor I work for put together a short curriculum on losing weight/moving forward despite interpersonal conflict, would you be interested? 2). If yes, how would you like to see that content packaged? Workshop, e-book, webinar, something else? Thanks much, K
