The university’s Global Commons initiative, which aims to accept 4,000 students from abroad and send 1,500 students into the world by the academic year 2020, has resulted in the university being selected as a Global 30. Also as part of that initiative, its School of Global Japanese Studies launched an undergraduate degree taught in English in 2011.
