Study in Italy Italy has played an important role in European higher education: it is one of the four countries that first engaged to create the so-called “European Area of Higher Education” (Sorbonne Declaration, May 1998), thus starting that type of higher education reform which, known as “Bologna Process” (Bologna Declaration, June 1999) is being implemented all over Europe. Today Italy ranks among the 8 most industrialized countries in the world. Alongside some big companies, both state-owned and private, it has developed a sound network of small and medium-sized undertakings, promoted a few scientific parks, and is incentivizing basic and applied research in a great variety of fields (biology, ICT, medicine, physics, etc.). Higher Education Institutions in Italy: At present, the university sector is made up of 89 university institutions which are classified in: – 58 State universities – 17 non-State universities (legally recognized by the State) – 2 universities for foreigners – 6 higher schools specialized in postgraduate university studies – 6 telemetric universities. Intakes: September-October, February-March. But normally international Students are taken in September-October session. Program of Study & Duration: Bachelor Degree (3 Years): Computer Science, Engineering Sciences, Biotechnology, B.B.A, Finance, Management and Marketing, Finance and Banking, Computer Science, Economics, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Civil Engineering, Economics etc. Master’s Degree (2 Years): Natural Sciences: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Statistics etc Engineering: Networking and Information Technology, Management and Marketing, Finance and Banking, Computer Science, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Civil Engineering, Economics, Organization Management, MBA etc. Business: International Business, Management, Planning and Management of Tourism Systems, Finance and other latest state-of-art programs are available. The Second Cycle Degree Programme: It is the second level of university studies. Prior to the reforms introduced by Italian ministerial degree , this type of degree was called “Specialistica”. Entry Requirements: For Bachelor: At least 12 years study has to be completed. Study gap maximum 3 years is accepted. Madrasa Education is not allowed. HSC result must not be below 3.5 For Masters: At least bachelor (Hons. BSc, BBA, BA) pass. 3 years degree pass is also accepted. Partial result doesn’t carry extra value to get admission. Work experience is not required but may carry extra credential to get admission in University. Language Proficiency: No IELTS, No TOEFL is official requirement. But students have to smartly face the oral test in the embassy. Air Fare: BDT. 60,000 – 70,000/= Tuition Fees: All the Fees are subjected to change with the variety of Universities and Subjects. Third World country student expected to be treated in a Different Way because of Economical inability. €500 to €2500 (Approx.) which is the normal tuition fee must be paid on the very arrival in Italy. The photograph should be: • Taken against a light colored (white, off-white etc.) background. • Clear and good quality and not framed or blocked • Printed on normal photographic paper • Full face without sunglasses, hat or other head covering unless for cultural or religious reasons. 5. All academic papers must be verified by IOM (International Organization for Migration ) 6. Proof of means of support in Italy of not less than €417.30 for each month of the academic year which is near about €5,184 must be proven by the student in his own account only either in Standard Chartered or HSBC bank. This availability can be proven through: • Proof of personal or family resources. • Guarantee of financial resources by accredited Italian institutions or agencies, Local government, or foreign institutions or agencies considered trustworthy by the Italian Diplomatic Representation. 7. Attestation of all educational documents by Education Board, Education Ministry, Foreign Ministry. 8. Translation of all educational documents by Italian Embassy nominated Agency (Trado Soft). 9.
