Studying for class tomorrow...making notes for everyone. I wanted - TopicsExpress

Studying for class tomorrow...making notes for everyone. I wanted to share this from my notes: Can both the Federal government and the states regulate public schools? Education is under concurrent jurisdiction even though the Constitution created a system where concurrent jurisdiction was to be strictly avoided except the rarest of cases. Highways, child abuse, environmental regulations…wages…working conditions of those employed by state governments are controlled by both federal and state. If we want to streamline, save taxpayers money, trillions of dollars, freedom for our family, businesses, finances… We need to advance the principle of exclusive jurisdiction and Only one and only ONE level of government. Congressional Powers- 1. The Congress shall have the power to lay and collect taxes, duties, imposts and excises to pay the debts and provide for the common defense and general welfare of the United States… 2. To borrow money on the credit of the United States… 3. Congress can regulate commerce that is between nations, between states and with Indian tribes. 4. Congress controls the rules for becoming a naturalized citizen. 5. Congress controls the rules for bankruptcies. 6. Congress can control our money system. 7. Congress can fix the system of weights and measures. 8. Congress can punish counterfeiters. 9. Congress can create post offices and roads that serve them. 10. Congress controls patents and trademarks. 11. Congress can create lower federal courts. 12. Congress can punish piracy and other crimes on the high seas. 13. Congress can declare war. 14. Congress can fun the military. 15. Congress can create and fund the Navy. 16. Congress can make the rules to govern the military. 17. Congress can call out the militia, which we now call the National Guard. 18. Congress can exercise complete supervision over the military. 19. Congress has complete authority over the District of Columbia. 20. Congress has the power to make laws that are necessary and proper to enable it to accomplish one or more of these 19 previous powers. Do you see education, highway, wages etc....
