Studying the New Testament - like a boss. Im really enjoying these Yale University lectures on the New Testament. They take the theology part out, and study the historical context, the authorship and literature-ship, and the cultural background behind the compilation of the New Testament. Very interesting. This is not to say that I have anything against the theology part of the scriptures. Its, simply, that we tend to vacuum-suck the scriptures as this bubbled universe, and forget Matthew, Paul, Peter, James, etc were average, everyday people who lived on earth, and that the world and societies were still moving forward, around the globe, while during the 33 years of Christs mortal life. This adds a very interesting (and I think) very important perspective in putting the life of Christ into context.
