Studying the life of William Wallace 13th century**has been interesting throughout the years.. He was nothing like (Brave heart) the name actually given to Robert the Bruce..Wallace was born to nobility and was already knighted ..served in the British military..before hooking up with Bruce.. he was a low lander..and organized men to fight same way as British..was not a loner as portrayed. .The fights did not start from Edward Longshanks having a Primae - Noctis.. law as there was non.-----.and the British soldiers wore no uniforms until the 17th century ...they ran ragged and were poor not two pennies to rub together.**Wallace and his band of soldiers (not wearing blue paint on faces) that was used in sport later in 17th century. . Lay in wait at Kilkurk..for British to cross the bridge once over he and his men just slaughtered the British. .not a real fight but *ambush..He never met Queen Isabela of France as she was only 4 yrs old then ..but did go to France to ask for help..Also was fluent at speaking french as he was educated...The Scots were more concerned with fighting the Pansies in sandals.ie. (Romans)..So the Romans built Adrians Wall to keep the Scottish buggers contained as they occupied Britain..I do know that the Romans married Scottish women and the wall contained units of homes for families..*I have a coin found there *and skeletons of women and babies plus housekeeping items have been excavated at the wall ... The Romans stayed when occupation ended because of settling down thus blending in. Wallace was hung drawn and quartered, castrated..then pulled apart by horses on arms n legs ..beheaded. .and dunked in hot tar..His body bits taken to four points of England ***and some given to Scotland. .Ive been to the spot in London theres a plaque on a building. ..to show where he was executed. .There is not much recorded about William Wallace..The accounts of childhood etc are just speculation..we do know that the Scots are Irish people( celts) Who migrated and occupied the north west of Britain and Lowlands..as the Picts were up north in Highlands..and they fought each other.all of them were having a go then***..The Irish /Scots are not cozey..but did help Wallace...he was finally wiped out when the Welsh men invented the Longbow***..and the British then had a superior weapon to use against enemies..France being the biggie**..The battle at Stirling finished William in his 30s by then with the use of the Longbow...I want to dig into more of the Roman involvement so much was going on then...
