Stuff happens, our horses get away from us on occasion. But what about when its a team of 8 Clydes... This is tough to watch (handled with such skill all horses walk away unscathed) and also a superb demonstration of outstanding preparation for a higher risk job - horses with true understanding of Meaning within a Confining Feel, in terms of 1) communication, 2) clarity about how to move and when, 3) how to get comfortable and wait and 4) 100% sureness about looking to handlers when surprising things happen. Not to mention the calm ease with which these horsemen handle this mess (unbelievable really - notice every person on crew has a laser focus on what needs to be done, works swiftly yet without worrying the horses). Ive had the deepest pleasure of working closely with a few draft horses - they are from another planet Im pretty sure :) A touching wisdom and such deep ocean of spirit. On the other hand they are also horses - with a fight/flight/freeze wiring, only turbo powered, if triggered. What took place to prepare this team of powerhouses and crew to make this bad a situation good is outstanding. Ive driven/headed ONE Perchie in a carriage in a couple of dicey situations and I have not yet perfected riding ONE horse in TWO reins! My hat goes off to these folks (and all credit to the commentator for guiding audience to observe the details that mattered and would lead to a happy ending). KM
