Stunning and depressing. As is the fact that only(!) 1500 veterans of the wars in Irak and Afghanistan (combined) had to have one or more limbs amputated. Compare that to the 1.5 million people with diabetes who had to have one or more limbs amputated.......DURING THE SAME PERIOD...! I also wonder how many people with diabetes committed suicide.... They say drinking too many sugary drinks not only can cause diabetes but also leads to depression--and we know what that can lead to....Californias proposed tax on sugary drinks may cost the less well off some money, but it may keep them healthier and that could save their lives, and it would save a lot in necessary medical care.
