Stupid story wont leave me alone. Jase from 500 Miles keeps telling me Im not being fair to him. He said I should give his side of the story since Marks already gotten his shot. And with Becky Condit bringing Mark & Jase together with Jay and Michael from Eden Winters The Telling, Mark is insisting now is the time. Maybe one day Ill do some work on him... 500 Miles - The Longest Mile Jase’s Story Small, slender arms clung to my neck, skinny legs wrapped around my waist, and the most beautiful brown eyes were looking at me, wide with fear. A panicked voice begged me to not let go. “It’s okay, Marky. I have you. I’m not going to let you go. You’re safe, I promise.” His lower lip quivered and I had the most insane urge to lean in and kiss him. He was only fourteen, though, and I was seventeen. Worse still, he was my best friend’s younger brother. I cupped my hand around his head and pulled him in close, determined to keep him comforted and walked him to the edge of the pool. I lifted him up and onto the deck. He gave me the shyest smile, said thank you, and ran off toward the lockers. “Why did you do that?” I demanded. “He could have been hurt.” Eric looked at me, eyes glistening. “I didn’t know he couldn’t swim. I never thought—” “That’s the problem, Eric. You didn’t think. Dude, he’s your brother. That has to mean something to you.” Eric snorted. “God, you act like you’re in love with him.” I was quiet for a minute, unsure what to say to him. Apparently that was a bit too long. “Oh my God. You are, aren’t you? You’re in love with Mark.”
