Subhnallah while I was writing this Shaykh Abu Bakr al-Shatri phoned to say he just arrived at home in Jeddah: Alhamdulillah had amazing company the last few days at home with my two beloved friends Shaykh Abu Bakr al-Shatri (Saudi Arabia) and Shaykh Abdul Karim al-Turki (Saudi Arabia) who both stayed over with me these past few days. Since both departed today morning, I can only say the presence both individuals had is surely being missed. For the one who loves and honours the Quran, Allah raises them in this world and the next and this is what I consistently see in Shaykh Abu Bakr al-Shatri. An individual who I have closely known for years now alhamdulillah, I can truly say he is an individual who is extremely dedicated to the Quran, beautiful in his character, humble in his approach, always positive, liked by anyone who meets him, hard working and the list can only go on and on. Allah has made him one of the most foremost reciters in the world and through his voice alone millions around the world have been inspired. I even met a sister who said she memorised the whole Quran after being inspired by Shaykhs recitation! As the Prophet (saw) says: Whoever Allahs wishes good for, he bestows upon him the understanding of Deen. The Muslims in the UK are blessed incredibly to be able to benefit from the likes of Shaykh Abu Bakr al-Shatri. The amazing news alhamdulillah is Shaykh will be moving to the UK with his family in June 2014 on a permanent basis and will be leading Teraweeh as planned in the UK this Ramadan 2014. Were blessed in the UK, lets work positively to create a positive future inshaallah. We have another AMAZING upcoming reciter amongst us, Shaykh Abdul Karim al-Turki (Saudi Arabia), watch out for this upcoming gem! Allah preserve our beloved Shaykh.
