Subject: Announcement from Coal & mined minerals from Indonesia The Indonesian government really are in a mess with their Mining policies here, they appear to just make a ruling without thinking of the harm it will do to the long term exports and investment in mining and they are so slow to react, because the Rupiah rate crashed they suddenly panic and lifted the export quota ruling, I say lifted, but where is the paperwork for this ?, nowhere, so all still in the dark. Since the quota system came in Billions have been lost in export and many miners out of jobs, equipment going rusty and miners going bankrupt, then on 14th January 2014 they will BAN all mineral exports apart from coal unless they are processed (smelted), wake up Indonesia government, see what harm you are doing to your own country and people. I understand why they want minerals processed here, but they have gone about it the wrong way, THINK it through please, not pass rash laws and get your country and people into trouble, listen to the world, how can ANY investor invest here with confidence, these not thought through mining policies also effect all investment here, investors think what next !, will next on the list be food or clothing or farming or banking or just about anything, it is causing any investor who wants to invest in anything here to think twice, then to decide NO, the risk is too high and they go elsewhere. How many Billions of USD in exports will be lost if they ban the export of all minerals other than coal on 14th January 2014 ? How many Indonesian people in the mining business are going to be out of work ? How many go bankrupt ? How many other people and businesses are effected when the ban comes in ?, the local shops, fuel sales, truck/plant hire and sales, hotels that get all the Buyers, airlines etc etc, the list goes on and on.
