Subject: Capitalism ------ Ethics question worth thinking about and pondering before answering. I ask the question at the risk of alienating but with no desire to do so. Simply a harmless question, yet with great weight. Let me set the question up this way... One thing that seems to be on many a mind is, Where are the jobs? This seems to be asked across political lines. Is this even a good question? If my sustenance, survival, well being, benefits, housing, 401K etc. etc.... is to be provided through an employer by my selling of my most precious resource (time),who is responsible or born with the responsibility at the same time as I of purchasing those hours, providing benefits, taking great risks in hiring you in the first place? When did the citizens of this great country decide to turn in the incredible blessing of free enterprise for the false sense of security supposedly provided through a job? When did the enticement of retirement enter into public discourse and what is the morality of spending our precious dwindling resource doing as little as possible with exception to 18 holes, a tennis match, tv consumption or fishing in the pond? Where and when did we decide that trading 35 of our most energetic years in for an unknown number of days or months to self indulge in whatever we want? Just asking how we got here? Entrepreneurialism is not only the key to a financial recovery but its also the road map to freedom and restoration of our Republic. Just something to think about.
