Subject: Deadlines Friends, Since being sworn in as State Representative, it seems as if my life has been run by deadlines. A deadline to file bills, a deadline to vote bills out of committee, and deadlines to pass bills out of the House and Senate. Yesterday was the Governor’s deadline to sign or veto bills. I am happy to say that all four of my bills that passed the Legislature have become law. That means that newly immigrated students will have time to adjust to a new country and learn a new language before we force them to take standardized tests, that over 1,000 families in east El Paso county will finally get wastewater services, and that we are beginning to establish a path to bring the dairy industry back to El Paso. Now we have another deadline heading our way. June 30 is the last day for donations to count towards the very important July fundraising report. That fundraising report is the last one before any potential opponents are able to file later this year. I need to show any potential opponents that I am serious about continuing the work we started last year. That’s why I am asking you to help me raise $5,000 over the next two weeks. We did a lot of good this year but, as you have seen in this special session, Rick Perry and Austin Republicans won’t give up. Will you help me stand up to Rick Perry and donate $10, $20, or $30? With your help we can keep moving El Paso forward. Sinceramente, Mary https://votemarygonzalez.ngpvanhost/crmapi/contribute
