Subject : JU - 2 A huge force of passion - really huge - we saw today. It is really beyond the capability of any language to describe the originality, the individual dedication, the immense power, the involvement... it has to be watched. Impossible to write. The #Hokolorob page has perfectly called this rally a huge success. When a man ejaculates, there are 200 to 500 million sperms that are released... and only 1 - just 1 of them is required to fertilize 1 ovum. The rest millions of sperms go waste. Success ? Yes. But what about the waste ? I was thrilled yet sad to see such an enormous collection of youth power has only one simple demand - Resignation of VC in JU. Yes, people spoke about JUstice and unbiased investigation etc. But ask any student at random what we want ? We want the Resignation of VC. Unthinkable ! Till now I could not understand why VC is so very much important in this whole revolution. Are we revolting against 1 person, 1 individual ? Who tortured the unarmed students ? Ans is Police... Who called the police... Ans is VC... so the entire protest has gone against the VC. The VC must resign and to make that happen, thousands & thousands of students rallied today in deep rain, ignoring all obstacles... showing the power of youth. I have not at least heard the students shouting against the Police openly. In my opinion, VC has the right to call the Police (we may not morally support that decision, at least I do not support it, but I think he has that right)... but the Police should know whose order they must follow. They do not, and should not, follow the order from the Vice Chancellor of a University. That is exactly where we went wrong, probably. The VC took an immoral step lawfully, he became the victim... and the Police force (or the Gundas in the name of the Police) who actually tortured the students - remained out of focus for the rally. And if we go deeper, we must know whose order the Police force (or the Gunda force) followed that night. We do not know. We only know the VC. He called the police. So bring him down. Resignation of the Vice Chancellor - whether it happens or not - is definitely not important here. If we could gather such a huge population of youth in support of JUstice, we must go beyond the small issue of VC and get into the root. This rally had that power. We could. But we wasted. So far in this student revolution, I have only shown my concerns about the torture against unarmed students in the mid of night. I have not spoken about the original issue - the molestation. In my opinion, the solution for issues like molestation or rape has to come from within ourselves. The way we treat or look at girls, the way we made a male-dominated society, the way we commoditized our opposite gender.... has to be solved from the root. A university, a hostel, a bus, a bar, a hotel - everything is part of this society and we must think about it as a social crisis. Hanging 1 particular person until death - will not solve it. This rally was one of the biggest spontaneous outcome of student power. Only the target is very poorly defined. VCs resignation would give us a mental happiness. The source of the problem would remain in dark. The sooner we realize the power we got, the endless possibilities that can happen from this point onward - the better we will define the future of this city - the state & nation. #Hokkolorob ~ ßrave Ħeart ::
