Subject Line: Author Gives Workshop Series on Domestic Violence, Immigration and Financial Freedom Based on Her New Book AMERICAN NIGHTMARES, AMERICAN DREAMS, First in San Rafael, California Nov. 9, 2014 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Today’s crisis in domestic violence is bigger than ever, with 1 in 4 women experiencing domestic violence during her lifetime, and each year, millions of children witnessing violent events in their homes. This life-threatening distraction is a part of millions of families’ daily lives. To address this epidemic of abuse, author and domestic violence expert Mary Luz Arredondo has begun a series of workshops on domestic violence prevention and protection, based on her recently published book AMERICAN NIGHTMARES, AMERICAN DREAMS. Mary Luz has been inspired to help families victimized by such violence due to her own experiences, as described in her book. From being repeatedly physically abused, to being arrested and put in jail by her husband so that he could kidnap their son without her interference, to being held at knifepoint with another of her children, she had to educate herself regarding such situations in her own defense, and in so doing, became certified to help others in similar circumstances. Such incidents led Mary Luz to want to help people experiencing domestic violence to protect themselves and get the help needed to leave an abusive situation. Her book also describes the many principles she has learned and has implemented in order to help her transition from poverty in a Mexican village to her current success in America. Attendees will hear about Mary Luz’s Five Action Plans for realizing their dreams, assisted by a team of experts who will be covering credit issues, immigration matters, financial planning and other topics, designed to empower and educate, so that no matter what the distraction may be, with a plan, anything can be accomplished. This is an opportunity for women and men in crisis to get the help that just may save their lives, and give them and their families the ability to live free from mistreatment and fear. This event is also a chance for concerned loved ones to get an education so that they are able to assist in this continuing crisis. The event is to be held at the Embassy Suites in San Rafael, California on Sunday, November 9, 2014, from 2 pm to 5 pm. Please come early for a good seat! Follow Mary Luz on the radio - KIQI 1010 AM every Friday 5:30PM -6:00PM for her program with Dario Medrano: Latin Encounter - Ask Mary Luz.
