Subject: Re Ukrainian Repression and Dmytro Firtash From: komarnyckyj.steve@gmail To: [email protected] Dear Lord Risby I am writing to you in connection with the situation in Ukraine where the President Yanukovych has signed a number of laws that were not adopted by Parliament on the basis of a proper procedure. These laws aim to outlaw public protest and to cement the Presidents rule in perpetuity. Yanukovych, a former convicted knife wielding thug and his associates have been implicated in numerous violent acts over many years and are plundering the country. Their associates, a cabal of gangsters known as the family, are taking over businesses by a campaign of terror across the country. The police have been turned into a gang of professional thugs to defend this caucus of robber barons. I regret to say that your colleague Dmytro Firtash is supporting the regime. His associate Ivan Myrnyj has voted for these laws. Firtash has long bankrolled the ruling party and the ruling party has been an instrument for bringing the Ukrainian mob to power. I am writing to ask therefore that you break all ties with this man, his agencies and his companies. I am writing to ask that you support the Ukrainian people i their attempt to overthrow a criminal gang. It grieves me deeply that it has come to this but he has made his choice.
