Subject: Severe Weather Outlook Thursday, July 25, 2013, 9:35 AM The next chances for severe weather in Arkansas will be Friday and Friday night. However, some storms could reach parts of western Arkansas before dawn on Friday. The exact track of the next weather system is still somewhat uncertain, but at this point, it looks as though parts of western and southern Arkansas will have the best chances of severe weather on Friday afternoon and evening. Damaging winds will be the main severe weather threat. The weather system will bring some heavy rain to the state. Many places should pick up 3/4 to 1 3/4 inches of rain, and there will almost certainly be some totals in the 2 to 3+ inch range. Current indications are that the northeast part of the state will receive the least rain. Flash Flood Watches have already been posted for 7 counties in northwest Arkansas. Flash Flood Watches could be extended to additional counties once it becomes clearer where the heaviest rainfall will occur.
