What is the danger of leaning on people? Do we need other peoples help? What does it mean to trust God? What is the difference between passive trust and active trust? When reading or listening I have often asked myself these three questions: God, what does it say? What does it mean? And how does it apply to me? When I listen to the sermon on words and how words often can be misunderstood or misinterpreted and taking into consideration semantics the meaning, or an interpretation of the meaning, of a word, sign, sentence I have often been led to the dictionary for an opportunity to be enlightened or understanding of things said that disturb me. For example what comes to mind with this statement God tested the people. When you think of testing what do you think the person is doing or hoping to accomplish. When I searched up the definition of test in regards to how God tests people I came across this: Test 1. the means by which the presence, quality, or genuineness of anything is determined; a means of trial.a chiefly British : cupelb (1) : a critical examination, observation, or evaluation : trial; specifically : the procedure of submitting a statement to such conditions or operations as will lead to its proof or disproof or to its acceptance or rejection (2) : a basis for evaluation : criterionc : an ordeal or oath required as proof of conformity with a set of beliefs 2a : a means of testing: as (1) : a procedure, reaction, or reagent used to identify or characterize a substance or constituent (2) : something (as a series of questions or exercises) for measuring the skill, knowledge, intelligence, capacities, or aptitudes of an individual or group b : a positive result in such a test 3: a result or value determined by testing 4: test matchAs I listen to these messages and especially the one on rhythm and words it gives opportunity to reflect. When we think of the Moses being used by God to free people from slavery we can see how slavery affected the people. As God parted the Red Sea offering safe passage demonstrating His ability and as He brought forth water from a rock and provided manna daily for the people understanding the affects of slavery continued to provide earning their trust. When we think of being enslaved in terms of enchain, shackle; control, dominate by our thoughts, situation, circumstances, fear etc. we may begin to identify areas within ourselves ˈpasiv/adjective1. accepting or allowing what happens or what others do, without active response or resistance.the women were portrayed as passive victimssynonyms:ac·tiveˈaktiv/adjective1.
