The United Insurance Under 19 School Cricket Tournament continued on Monday with victories for Babonneau Secondary over CARE, for Vide Bouteille Secondary over Sir Ira Simmons Secondary and for Vieux Fort Comprehensive over Choisuel Secondary. At the Monchy Playing Field Babonneau Secondary registered a comfortable 134 run victory over CARE. Taking first knock Babonneau Secondary were dismissed for 209 in 36 overs with the main contributors being, Kimmani Melius with 39, Allian Ashby 27 and Stavone Gabriel with 18. Lyndell George was CAREs best bowler taking 5 for 41 in 9 overs. He was supported by Cyprian Servaius who took 2 for 42 in 8 overs, Alton Belezaire 2 for 55 in 8 overs and Jessy Blades 1 for 35 in 5 overs. In reply CARE were bowled out in the 26th for 75. The wicket takers for Babonneau Secondary were, Vernillius Gabriel who picked up 4 for 29 in 8 overs, Yohan Hunte 3 for 7 in 3 overs, and one wicket each for Wilson Charlemagne, Leonard Augustin and Rene Montoute. At the Gros Islet Playing Field Vide Bouiteille Secondary held their composure and completed a narrow 11 run victory over Sir Ira Simmons Secondary. Batting first Vide Bouteille were dismissed for 125 in 30.1 overs with Marlon Remy top scoring with 25 and Selwyn Boyce making 13. For Sir Ira Simmons the main wicket takers were, Ryhim Clerville who took 3 for 21 and Dane Edward 2 for 16. Set a victory target of 126 Sir Ira were dismissed for 114 in the 33rd over falling short by just 12 runs. Dane Edward made 29 and Augustin Doxilly 14 in their loosing effort. Doing the damage with the ball for Vide Bouteille were Selwyn Boyce with a five wicket haul, he picket up 5 for 29 in 9 overs and Marlon Remy 3 for 19 in 6 overs. In the 3rd match of the day played at the Piaye Playing Field Vieux Fort Comprehensive defeated Choisuel Secondary by 5 wickets. Choiseul batting first were dismissed for 150 in 33.4 overs with good knocks coming from Nick Joseph who made 47, Mervie Thomas 34 and Kurt Stephen 11. The wicket takers for Vieux Fort Comprehensive were, Ajani Larbourne with 3 for 16 in 3.4 overs, Dornan Edward 2 for 21 in 7 overs, Valange St Ange 2 for 23 in 7 overs and Jamaal Joseph 2 for 25 in 4 overs. In reply a brilliant undefeated half century from Valange St Ange secured victory for Vieux Fort Comprehensive as they reached 152 for 5 in 28.3 overs. St Ange stroked 70 not out and shared valuable useful partnerships with Denzel James who made 23 and with Jeannick Serieux who contributed 13. The wicket takers for Choisuel Secondary were, Mervie Thomas, Jacqiaine Mesmain, Stephone Henry and Sachin Canchon who all took one wicket each. The tournament continues on Tuesday with a clash between Ciceron Secondary and Corinth Secondary at Monchy, Castries Comprehensive vs Entrepot Secondary at Gros Islet, Piaye Secondary comes up against Soufriere Comprehensive at Piaye and Grand Riviere Secondary vs Anse Ger Secondary at La Ressource.
