Subject: Your Christmas Eve Security Checklist Christmas is almost on us and I wish you and your family a great, safe Christmas. You have to know that the bad guys are very active on Christmas and the days following it looking for valuables and other reasons to invade your home.According to a study by Esquire magazine, December is the most active month for crime throughout the whole year. Heres a couple of examples from just last year In a Chicago suburb three armed men forced their way into a home and ended up shooting the male homeowner in the head. In North Carolina, two black men wearing masks forced their way in the home. A 42-year-old man was shot in the leg while struggling with the two intruders. In Sarasota Florida, an intruder entered the victim’s residence through a sliding glass door and removed a flat screen TV and some other items. The homeowner was forced into his bedroom closet. All this happened on Christmas Eve. Youll want to take some steps to make yourself less of a target. Dont ever answer the door late at night. Even during the day, make sure you know the person and why they are there. When you unwrap your presents, dont leave them under the tree exposed to a window. Dont take photos of your expensive gifts and post them on social media. Also with social media, be careful posting when you will be out of the house, for parties, traveling, etc. Going to grandmas/the in-laws/etc for Christmas? Dont leave your gifts in the car. As always if someone does get in, make sure you have a plan for defense and resistance. Want more on how to spot thieves/intruders before they strike and what action to take if it happens?
