Sublet available FEBRUARY 1-24, 2015: $343 (pro-rated) rent. Quiet, smallish room, on 2nd floor, unfurnished (but we can leave a queen sized bed for you to borrow), BIG window facing West, shared bathroom (with 1 other person) across the hall, and 1/2 a closet (in the hallway) to share with 1 other person. We live in a deceivingly giant 6 bedroom house where Oakland, Berkeley, and Emeryville all kiss eachother. Its romantic. 63rd street between San Pablo and Market. We are looking for someone who is: -socially, politically and environmentally conscious -queer/QTPOC and/or queer/QTPOC-friendly -fond of communal-living/ has a clear understanding of personal responsibility and communal space -clean/ does their chores -mature! At the time of the sublet there will be 4 QT/POC/mixed race folks & 1 Queer white person living here. We are looking to temporarily fill the 6th room. Our house is semi-communal in that we share food costs, chores and sometimes cook dinner for each other, but there is also plenty of space for solo time. We enjoy hanging out over bikerides, craft nights, bon fires, breakfast, lunch, dinner or movies. But we can also keep to ourselves sometimes. Billz: Utilities (average around $70 per person during the Winter months) + house staples (laundry/dish soap, sponges, TP, etc…) & shared house food (average around $70 per month). We will pro-rate those costs when the time comes. The house itself is really lovely. Featuring: Sunny front yard, raised garden beds; large living room with giant window, sun light, fire place, and lots of plants everywhere; 6 bedrooms; dining room, TWO kitchens, FOUR bathrooms, a back den for movie watching movies (with projector), sewing/crafting, hanging out; LARGE backyard featuring a FIRE-PIT, 2-car garage for bike storage and playing musical instruments, fig tree, passion flower, honey suckle, nasturtium, and other plants. We also have a dog, Charlie Bucket, who is a three year old pit-bull, and our goofy protector (no more dogs please). No cats either, as V is severely allergic. Accesibility: The house is near a few bus lines and, is a 15 min walk/ 7 min bike ride to Ashby BART. The room for sublet is up a flight of stairs, and there are additional stairs throughout the house. We strive to keep the house as scent-free as possible. We only buy free & clear Laundry detergent, and scent-free, bio-degradable dish soap. Some people burn natural incense (palo santo, sage, cedar, other dried plants, natural nag champa), but keep it in their rooms. If you are interested, please email: 9.nine.eight@gmail And please tell us about yourself in the email. Thanks!
