Submarines: Some of you know that I spent some quality time beneath the waves on several boats over the years of my service as a submarine sonarman. A couple weeks ago, I had occasion to photograph one such boat in Portland, OR, where it now resides as a museum. The weather was chilly, but not brutal. The waters of the Willamette were quiet, save for the riffling breezes and light rain squalls passing over in what was otherwise a still night. Here are a few of those pictures. I had with me a Pentax 6X7 medium format camera, of which I have scanned some relatively small slides, my K20D, until the battery went dead, and a Canon EF-1. I dont yet have any of the photos from the Canon, but here are the others. The two black and white are from the 6X7, and the Color photos are from the digital camera.
