Submit to Job Email A Friend Job Title: IT Tech II Position Status: Full Time Department: AIT Technical Infrastructure City: Varies State: New Jersey Position Days: Varies Standard Hours: 37.50 Weekend Required: Yes Holidays Required: Yes Job Description: POSITION SUMMARY: The Information Technology Technician II supports, monitors, tests and troubleshoots hardware and software problems pertaining to local area networks (LAN). Recommends and schedules repairs. Provides end users support for all LAN-based applications. Installs and configures workstations. Acts as the primary technical customer support representative. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. This position may require on-call responsibilities and rotational shift coverage (early and late shifts). This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation. QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred. LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: A+ Certification, MCSA. Valid Driver’s license required. PREFERRED: MCSE, MS OFFICE CORE Certification. EXPERIENCE: 3 to 5 years experience in field or related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within a particular field. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is required. PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS: •Configures, installs, maintains, and troubleshoots PC hardware, printers and network connectivity. * •Configures, installs, maintains and troubleshoots software for PC’s and network connectivity*. •Configures, upgrades, and maintains network connections by keeping clients current. * •Performs software downloads from file servers. * •Restores both application software and files from enterprise wide file servers. * •Coordinates installations and upgrades with hospital personnel and off site customers. * •Plans and coordinates cable installations with customers and cable contractors. * •Provides technical support for InfoShare/ACMC personnel. * •Tests and participates in off-site to on-site disaster recovery testing. * •Demonstrates a strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols, and network infrastructure. •Demonstrates a superior proficiency of all Level I tasks. •Demonstrates thorough knowledge of all applications used at AtlantiCare from a desktop perspective including MS Office. •Performs level II troubleshooting involving PC, printer, network interface module, cabling, network, connectivity at hub/switch level and at the modem/ISDN adapter level. * •Responsible for creating and maintaining accurate repair/install records. •Documents, monitors and troubleshoot issues until resolved. •Responsible for escalating non-desktop related problems to other appropriate departments. •Provides mentoring to the Information Technology Technician I. •Understands and practices the InfoShare Values.* •Adheres to AtlantiCare and InfoShare Policies and Procedures.* •Performs other duties as assigned.* WORKING CONDITIONS: This position requires balancing, climbing, fingering, grasping, hearing, kneeling, reaching, reading, seeing, speaking, standing and stooping a majority of the time. The ability to carry, lift, push and pull up to 20 lbs. required. Occasional driving also required.
