Submit to, Resist the and Flee from……….. James 4:7-10 NKJV Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up. Good Morning and Happy Sunday What a way to start the week, Submit to, Resist the and Flee from. Submit to, to God the one who sent Jesus to die for our sins with this come: 1.Cleansed hands (good works) 2. purify your hearts (with the word, prayer and assemble). Resist the, the devil, in the text we see the double-minded and the proud one, once the devil is in your head wrong become right and right become wrong then double mindedness take over, then comes gloom, mourning and weeping this can bring a person down. Flee from, I remember a line from this movie “If you see an agent, Run, Run your but off (we know he didn’t say but though)” fleeing don’t make us weak in fact it simply means stepping away from anything that hinders a blessing and running to the arms of God. In closing “Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up” it don’t get any better then that, so in Submitting to, Resisting the and Fleeing from makes us braver because we have come to grips that its not about us, its about God…..
