INTERNATIONAL SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES LIST September 2014 INQUIRIES REGARDING THE FOLLOWING OPENINGS SHOULD BE DIRECTED THROUGH NORMAL CHANNELS. LOCATION SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS DATE NEEDED CORPS OFFICERS Corps Officers Various corps in Finland Officers will be considered. Preferably Finnish or Swedish speaking. Minimum 3 year term. Corps Officers Various corps in Norway, Iceland & the Faeroe Islands Knowledge of a Scandinavian language is an advantage but English is a good starting point. Minimum 3 year term. ASAP Corps Officers France and Belgium Must be French speakers As soon as possible Corps Officer Brazil Preferably Portuguese speaking, but Spanish speaking with a willingness to learn the language and culture would be acceptable Minimum 3 year term Corps Officers Italy An officer couple fluent in Italian for corps work Immediately Corps Officers Mexico They would require the Spanish language and be able to grow the work of Christ in Mexico. 3 year term Corps Officers South America West Facility to work in Spanish and administer corps and community services ministries. Required immediately. 3 year term Corps Officer Latvia Must be English speaking. Possibility of exchange of officers As soon as possible Corps Officers The Netherlands & Czech Republic Corps Officers to work in Czech. Working language could be English with an openness to learn Czech. English speaking, married officer couple with experience in a mission setting, rural set up. Preferably no children. Minimum period of three years Corps Officers USA Western Various Corps in Micronesia/Marshall Islands. English speaking and willing to learn the local language. Married officer couple with experience in a mission setting and rural set up. Preferably no children. Minimum period of three years FINANCIAL & BUSINESS Financial Secretary Congo Brazzaville Officer preferred, with experience in the Salvation Army accounting system. French speaker preferred. However, may accept an English speaker if he/she is willing to learn French. Immediately Financial Secretary/Administrator Nigeria Single/Married Officer preferred. The appointee should be familiar with Salvation Army finance procedures and able to work with manual and computerised accounting. If married, the spouse may be Education Officer at the Officers’ Training College or Territorial Extension Training Officer (see below). No children. Must be able to live within a confined environment, with minimal opportunities for social recreation. Immediately MEDICAL & SOCIAL Nurse Kingston Jamaica Nurse required at the Salvation Army School for the Blind in Kingston, Jamaica. A Salvationist would be preferred As soon as possible Urgent PROPERTY Property Secretary Liberia Position can be filled by an Officer or a lay person. He or she must have a knowledge of dealing with Army property Urgent PROJECTS Projects Officer Angola Preferably an officer, but a suitably qualified Salvationist will also be considered. Communication skills, computer competency, administration skills and ability to work in English language are essential, with some knowledge of Portuguese (or Spanish) if possible. May be single or married. If married, an administrative appointment for the spouse is available. Family accommodation is limited so maximum 2 children. 2 years term Immediately Projects Officer Caribbean Territory Preferably an officer who can communicate in English and has working knowledge of French for the Haiti Division. 3 years term Projects Officer Bangladesh Preferably a single officer Immediately TEACHING AND TRAINING Programme Coordinator Liberia Vocation Training & Testing Centre. Must have a Masters Degree in Technical Education or Masters Degree in Education. Despite the elevation the person is needed to coordinate the programmes at the centre. As soon as possible
