I request that you provide me with on as much information, documents, and details on the work, and the life of the great aviation designer, and inventor, the American Georgian immigrant to the United States of America, and later citizen of the United States of America, Alexander Kartveli, born in Tbilisi, the nation of Georgia born September 9, 1896 – his death on June 20, 1974. I would particularly also request all films, movies, photographs, and documents particularly about the work he did which can be used for display in a public museum in both the U.S.A. and the republic of Georgia. I make this request as a U.S. Citizen who announced in ‘First Radio’ in Tbilisi, the republic of Georgia, that I would do this for the American Georgian friendship, as an honorary member of the International Society of Alexander Kartveli, and a member of the American Press Association, who has produced documentary films on important topics in Georgia, and photographs on events related to the life, and work of Alexander Kartveli. Those documents in particular to his work related on space craft or pre-cursor craft similar to the Space Shuttle are of immense interest. If there are any fees for searching or copying these records, please inform me before filling my request, or I am willing to pay fees for this request up to a maximum of $100. If you estimate that the fees will exceed this limit, please inform me first, or I request a waiver of all fees for this request since the disclosure of the information I seek is not primarily in my commercial interest, and is likely to contribute significantly to public understanding of the operations or activities of the government, in light of the American Georgian friendship, the International Society of Alexander Kartveli, and proposed museums to be created in Georgia, and the USA on this most influential aircraft engineer and pioneer in American aviation history. Kartveli achieved important breakthroughs in military aviation in the time of turbojet fighters. He is considered to be one of the most important and innovative aircraft designers in US history and the world, making the disclosure a matter of public interest. I will be providing these documents also directly to the International Society of Alexander Kartveli, the President of the society, Lela Kartveli. If you deny any or all of this request, please cite each specific exemption you feel justifies the refusal to release the information and notify me of the appeal procedures available to me under the law.
