Subscribe Share Past Issues RSS Translate 100 Letters Campaign View this email in your browser Dear Building ARs, As you know, the ISBE board will soon be voting to reconsider the 70/30 special education law. This is especially important to us in Belvidere where District 100 Administration have already exceeded the limits to this law. You may have seen in Octobers ePen that we are holding a 100 letters campaign. However we feel that the more letters we can get from our members the better. So... Building ARs, we invite you to participate in the BEA 70/30 law LETTER CHALLENGE! Every building who can get 50 letters (That would be 10 staff members for the five 5 addressees: The ISBE Board of Directors, Senator Steve Stadelman, Representative Charles Jefferson, Representative Robert Prichard, and Representative Joe Sosnowski) will earn $30.00 for their buildings AR meeting treats! ADDITIONALLY Any individual building reps. who send bundles of letters to Kendra Asbury by the deadline of October 31st will be entered to win prizes to be given away at our next AR meeting! Consider tackling this challenge by grade level or department. Remember, there is a sample letter in the last issue of the ePen, and you can use the same letter each time, just change the addressees! Kendra will even take care of stuffing the letters for each addressee. Lets work together to do all that we can to help the ISBE see that changing the 70/30 law is NOT in the best interest of our students and their families!
