Succumbing to Peer Pressure and its lessons for me… Last year, I went to Ada, for the first time I might add, with Marcel Desailly, we had closed a great deal and went to celebrate. Now this Ashanti boy doesnt play with the Ocean and I have never been in the Ocean, Atlantic OR Pacific..but, at Ada, even though I firmly told all I didnt want to go on any speed boat or jet ski or anything on the water, coz, homey dont play that, well, I thought, I succumbed to peer pressure…come on, dont be a woss, its only water, even if u fall, the life jacket wont allow u to go down, come on Reks… so after a lot more of this, not just from Marcel, but also from the fine accompanying tiins, what did i do against MY wish?? strap a life vest on, listened to Marcel as he gave me quick familiarization instructions on what to do and voila, the Kobolor was on water, and ON a jet ski, for the first time!! Chale, after about 2 minutes, I felt comfortable and even started yiiing some styles, abi, people dey watch now, including the fine accompanying tiins, giving me fans so the fool I was went even faster, with more swerves and styles….I must say, I DID enjoy it and it WAS fun, well, till I quickly woke up from my slumber and started to think about where I was AND what I was doing!!! My heart started pounding and I had to revisit my 100 meter ways to calm myself totally down, while I steered right back on shore and jumped off, thank God nothing happened and Im ok today. I have gone on, foolishly and succumbed to more different types of peer pressure in other areas oo, hmm….this beast called Peer Pressure, nawaa oo but in Gods name, i REFUSE YOU, NO MORE!!
